Horse Supplements. What do each of them do? Read Part 2 here:

Horse Supplements Part 2

Just like humans, horses consume supplements. This is because, like us, they lose or lack vitamins and minerals that support different functions and systems in their body which keep them healthy. Lots of different supplements help different problems because of the ingredients in them.

Today, I will be sharing some of the supplements available on the market that you can feed your horse. In the first half we started to go through some other products and what they are used for along with ingredients you should be looking out for.

*Please remember I am not an equine dietitian and do not specialize in anything related so please do not take this as advice as to what you should be feeding your horse and instead consult the professionals for accurate information instead. Thank you. *

I will be using all NAF Equine products for the examples, but other brands and other supplements are out there to do the same job. THIS IS NOT PAID ADVERTISMENT FOR NAF.

NAF do a range of supplements for all things such as joint care, hoof care, breathing, digestion, performance, calming, vitality, immunity, breeding and more! There is also a product line for veterinarians. Each includes special ingredients that all play roles.

PERFORMANCE:

The performance range at NAF consists of many different products to maintain a healthy horse after intense pressure on muscles and ligaments. They sell many products from electro salts and liquid electro lytes, muscle tissue support, cooling gel, recovery formulas, energy shots and more! NAF helps you take care of your horses in the best possible way.

CALMING:

Some horses tend to get a bit excited when they know something fun is about to happen so NAF designed more products that you can give to reduce the buzz. This is magic. There is also oestress for mares in season.

VITALITY:

Vitality products have been designed to make sure your horses daily nutritional requirements are met. Maintaining salt levels are really important as well as making sure mares can provide for their young. On the NAF website, and other brands as well, you can view the different products that may improve your horse’s welfare and condition.

IMMUNITY:

Horses immune systems sort of work similar to horses and fight illnesses but also affect their overall well-being and performance. NAF have 5 products made to challenge the immune system.

When looking for a product proven to work for immune health look out for ingredients like: Echinacea and Garlic.

BREEDING:

Lastly, we all want a happy and healthy foal at the end of the day and therefore NAF have 2 products available to purchase that will give them the best chance of life. Fertility for Stallions helps to maximise a stallion’s breeding potential. Foal Biofix helps foal digestion health.

I hope you liked Part 2 of horse supplements. Please visit the NAF website to view more information about all products mentioned and many others on their page. Don’t forget, I am not a specialist in equine nutrition and dietitian so please consult professionals and not take any information as advice.
